Operations Management BBA Curriculum

Anderson Classroom The suggested program above presumes that 62 hours of pre-admission requirements and free electives have been earned. As credits earned vary from student to student, please use worksheets, the Anderson website, and check with your BBA Advisor to calculate your earned pre-admission hours.

The Operations Management concentration provides students with management skills for planning, coordinating, and controlling the people and technology used to transform raw materials into goods and services. Students with a concentration in Operations Management are well prepared to contribution to the economic development and competitiveness of New Mexico and the U.S. by taking advantage of excellent career opportunities in consulting, inventory planning, purchasing, supply chain management, production control, production scheduling, quality management, and material resource planning in a wide variety of manufacturing and service industries. These include manufacturing, banking, insurance, hospitals, tourism, and construction.

All students must apply for graduation the semester prior to graduation:

  • November 1 - for Spring graduation
  • April 1 - for Summer graduation
  • July 1 - for Fall graduation

Professional Development

  • Professional certification available through the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS).
  • Student membership in the Albuquerque Chapter of APICS: includes monthly dinner meetings with guest speakers, plant tours, contacts with POM professionals, educational materials.
  • Operations Management Student Association (OMSA): plant tours, peer association, officer positions.


Dual Concentration Program

The areas of Marketing and Operations Management have created a dual concentration program. Students may pursue a dual concentration in Marketing and Operations Management by taking as few as 21 credit hours including MGMT 434, 480, 481, 3 of the following dual electives: MGMT 433, MGMT 486, MGMT 488, MGMT 490; and one additional Operations Management course. The additional Operations elective may be MGMT 462 or a fourth dual concentration elective.
